Anticorruption – Global year in review

A panel held during the "Compliance year in review" conference of the Cercle de la Compliance on 3 December 2024.

 

Speaking on the panorama of anti-corruption news for the year 2024, Stéphane de Navacelle and Laura Ragazzi (Navacelle) focused, for the Cercle de la Compliance, on :

  • The surveys and latest guides published by the French Anticorruption Agency (Agence française anticorruption) in March and November 2024, notably on sponsorship and mecenat operations
  • Law no. 2024-582 of 24 June 2024, which now allows companies to agree to relinquish assets seized in criminal proceedings to the State when concluding a CJIP (kind of French DPAs)
  • The latest case law on internal investigations
  • Judicial news for 2024, including major prosecutions and convictions in France, CJIPs concluded in matter of probity and tax and 10 years of Parquet national financier
  • An overview of anticorruption advances in Europe, the UK and the USA, where the U.S. Department of Justice has published an update of the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Program (ECCP) and launched the Corporate Whistleblower Awards Pilot Program.
