Abanca signed a DPA: Press release from the Paris public prosecutor
On April 26, 2023, the Paris public prosecutor’s office announced the validation by the Paris judicial court of a deferred prosecution agreement signed with Abanca Corporacion Bancaria, which undertakes to pay a public interest fine of 3.8 million euros. The bank had been indicted in March 2021 on charges of aggravated money laundering of crimes, including tax fraud, for the period from September 2011 to April 2013. > Read article

Prison population reaches a new record in April
Already condemned in 2020 by the ECHR for the inhumane and degrading conditions of its prisons, France has seen the occupancy rate of its prisons reach a new high, at 120%, compared to 117% last year.
