Navacelle welcomes Maxime Desplats as Partner

Navacelle is delighted to announce the arrival and association of Maxime Desplats.

With an international culture and a multidisciplinary team led by Stéphane de Navacelle, Julie Zorrilla and Roxane Castro, Navacelle continues to grow and strengthens its arbitration and international litigation practice with the arrival of

Maxime Desplats

as Partner.

Maxime brings over 15 years of experience in Anglo-Saxon law firms (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and DLA Piper LLP), during which he was involved in complex litigation and arbitration cases with high financial and strategic stakes, in sectors as diverse as energy, resources, construction, and telecommunications.

Recognized for his solid expertise in institutional arbitration (ICC, SCC, CCJA, VIAC, etc.) as well as ad hoc arbitration, Maxime will now assist the firm’s clients with their arbitration cases. He also appears before state courts, particularly in proceedings related to arbitration (enforcement of awards, setting-aside proceedings). “Maxime’s extensive arbitration experience enriches the firm’s expertise. As arbitration is increasingly requested by our clients, and as we strive to provide them with the best possible support, we are thrilled to welcome Maxime, who strengthens our dedicated team”Julie Zorrilla, Partner Navacelle.

Furthermore, Maxime enhances the firm’s practice in business criminal law and complex disputes, particularly in compliance, a field in which he has diligently conducted internal investigations into allegations of corruption, as well as in public affairs. “Specialized in arbitration, Maxime also provides great support in business criminal law, particularly in compliance. His multidisciplinary expertise is a real asset in better guiding and advising our clients”Roxane Castro, Partner Navacelle.

Trained internationally with a Master in Business Law from Panthéon-Assas University (with one year at the University of Montreal), and holding a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Sydney, Maxime embodies the firm’s global outlook. In harmony with the fundamental values of the Navacelle team – client commitment, excellence, rigor and goodwill – he is actively involved in concrete initiatives to promote environmental responsibility.

“Maxime’s arrival enhances our ability to support our clients in their arbitration disputes as well as business litigation. We are very pleased!”Stéphane de Navacelle, Partner Navacelle.

“Renowned for its expertise in business criminal law and compliance, the team has established itself as a key player, particularly with clients who are also involved in arbitration proceedings. Thanks to our complementary skills, these clients can count on us to help them effectively resolve their most complex and strategic disputes “ – Maxime Desplats, Partner Navacelle.

Alexander Brabant, a partner in the international arbitration team at DLA Piper LLP and former managing partner of the Paris office, with whom Maxime Desplats worked for over ten years, notes: “Maxime stands out not only in terms of how he understands and works the legal and factual issues of a case, but also how he understands the cultural underpinnings of the protagonists of a dispute. Maxime is a great addition to Stéphane’s team”.
