Do it the American way: The rise of plea bargaining, leniency agreements & criminal settlements in civil law jurisdictions

Stéphane de Navacelle alongside Frederico Ramos (Immigration bureau of Argentina - Legal Director), Fabiola Emilin Rodrigues (Demarest Advogados - Partner), Frederico Busatta (Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners - Partner) intervene in a panel on the theme "Do it the American way: The rise of plea bargaining, leniency agreements & criminal settlements in civil law jurisdictions" at ABA Section of International Law Fall Meeting in Buenos Aeres. Qualified practitioners from civil law countries with an extensive understanding of common law systems discuss how settlements have become or are likely to become a trend in their jurisdiction, how this has changed their practice, the roles of Prosecutors and investigating magistrates, disclosure issues, victim compensation and provide insights on how the shift is likely to impact cross-border criminal matters.
