Observatory of Judicial Agreements of Public Interest

Over the past 12 months, 21 CJIPs have been concluded, with increasing convergence toward the DPAs used in Anglo-Saxon legal systems.

 

Since the introduction of the Convention Judiciaire d’Intérêt Public (CJIP) i France under the Sapin II Law, more than 90 agreements have been concluded, including 21 over the past twelve months. This period has been marked by the steady growth of the environmental component of the regime (12 environmental CJIPs), as well as an increasing convergence toward the Deferred Prosecution Agreements used in Anglo-Saxon legal systems.

The infographic also highlights prosecutors’ increasing recognition of proactive corporate conduct, particularly in relation to cooperation and self-reporting, as well as the application of the CJIP mechanism to a wide variety of entities, ranging from multinational groups to associations and local public authorities.
